The Fairy Nightie

Well, I dragged (literally) myself into Kettering yesterday, as I wanted to find a nightie to wear in hospital.
I'm sure there may well be some people reading this thinking..."The LAST thing you'll be worrying about is what you're wearing!!", but there is some method behind it.
I wanted to have something that buttoned all the way down the front, so when baby is born, I can place her directly on my bare chest, without having to hoist up my whole nightie, or take it off all together. Then I can just wrap it back around us.
I couldn't believe my luck, when the first shop I went in I found this one! It's so pretty, as you can see, with beautiful ribbon and lace trim.
And look at the label! Perfect for giving birth to my very own baby faery.
Only 13 days to go until due day.....
I'm absolutely terrified, but desperate to meet her...

Only 13 day to go - wow it must be so exciting (but yeah a little scary too). Love the nightie, it's so sweet and especially the label! Thinking of you and your little one ;)

Hello Erica and thanks for your sweet essay ;) I am touched how you think of my life.. but of course we are all just doing our thing in the way we best can. To others your life will seem enchanting too ... but we all know that there are still the grey days and putting out the bins and agonies of feeling crap at drawing and feeling a bit mad and having to sit on hold to the internet company listening to musak... etc etc... I think those of us who make things have an important job because we tell stories... our blogs are tales about how we create things... and keeping wonder alive is .. well.. wonderful! :) :)
Your anticipation for the little one coming brings tears to my eyes... it is very exciting! Look after yourselves... and amazing that you are making lovely little furry creatures so fervently whilst almost ready to pop!
Happy days to you xxx Rima
